![]() In the right hands, a major transformation including rhinoplasty and body surgery that will positively impact the patient’s life. The preoperative assessment is what is the overall health of the patient is essential when considering combination procedures. In our practice, we request an extensive preoperative evaluation- including blood tests usually EKG and chest x-ray. Also if the patient is on any medications preoperative clearance must be given from the prescribing physicians.
THE RISKAnatomically the nose and the body contouring can be done, in the right hands at the same surgical time. The risk is a focus on the anesthesia time and the overall anesthesia assessment risk. Every patient is given a rank by risk factors with respect to the anesthesia they are about to receive. The American Society of anesthesiologists has a ranking system set to each and every patient.
This assessment takes into account many of the medical conditions and factors in relation to that specific patient. For example, does the patient smoke? Is the patient obese? Does the patient have high blood pressure? Or, do they have diabetes or a heart condition? The anesthesia provider will assign a level of risk by these factors to each and every patient.
If the patient determination to be of minimal anesthesia risk with respect to these factors then they are suitable for the combination of procedures. That is the rhinoplasty and the body contouring. In my practice, I have done combination procedures many many times with outstanding results.
Keep in mind that the price range that people see on the REAL SELF forum is not completely accurate. Our practice never provides estimates to that forum as this is a custom process and prices will vary from patient to patient. Real Self price estimates are well below the price range in our practice. Our pricing system is specific for our practice and takes into account many years of experience and specific customized approaches, the professionalism of the facility ( which is top of the line), and the fact that we use MD anesthesia providers to maximize patient safety and successful outcomes.
