CAN I HAVE A NOSE JOB AT 15?

nose jobAll mammal species have some form of grooming. Or, a desire to appeal to other members of the species. This is especially applicable to humans. Because we have higher intellect, our ability to be more sophisticated in our attempt to improve our appearance becomes more challenging and complicated. Nevertheless, looking our best is a sign of character and appreciation of our existence on this earth. Let us discuss the youngest age available for a nose job.

Development of the nose is part of a complex embryological process. As we have discussed, the nose is made up of skin, bone, cartilage, and mucous membranes. And not to mention all the internal connecting structures.

The question is when it is safe to alter the nose surgically. To have a nose job. Fundamentally the question is when does the nose stop growing? The internal structures do stop growing sometime during or at the end of puberty. The ligament structures –  or the skin and connecting structures may continue to stretch over time.

It is generally believed that for a female, two years following the first menstrual cycle. at this point, the nose has reached its mature state and therefore is safe for young women to have a nose job. This could be anywhere from 14 on up. For males, it takes a little longer for the nose to reach a mature state.

Therefore, I recommend 17 to 18 for boys. You must see an experienced plastic surgeon with a sizeable before-and-after gallery for this procedure. I prefer the closed technique. Even though it is more challenging for some surgeons. In my opinion, overall, it allows a better structural result.

Furthermore, the first time is the best. Therefore you must make the right choice at the outset. We see a great number of patients for revision after a poor nose job performed by other surgeons.

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty, in most highly qualified practices, including our own, is not a cheap or inexpensive procedure. In our practice, our fee includes the surgeon’s fee, facility fee, and anesthesia fee. The price for rhinoplasty, in my opinion, reflects the level of expertise available to you. This is a very artistic and subjective operation.  And it requires, in addition to knowledge, experience, skill, and training, a great deal of interaction with the patient. This is to understand their specific goals and tastes.

Save up and make the right choice the first time. We have one of the most extensive before and after galleries for rhinoplasty, primary, revision, and ethnic nose jobs.
