There are several different types of tummy tuck procedures. Dr. Trevisani selects an approach based on the particular patient needs based on the patient’s anatomy and desired outcome.

Tummy tuck is usually performed as an out-patient procedure. Patients are monitored during the entire procedure by a board-certified anesthesiologist, so they remain safe and comfortable at all times.
During this procedure the muscles of the abdominal wall are tightened. Dr. Trevisani utilizes a special long-acting local Anesthesia, that lasts for 3-4 days. Also, he performs a “drain-less” surgery, meaning no painful and inconvenient drains to remove later. All of our suturing is internal.

Once this operation is completed the patient is required to be positioned properly with the head elevated and the knees flexed. This creates flexion at the waist which will minimize the pressure on the incision site. This position is important for solid uncomplicated healing.
