The aging face presents a variety of challenges to achieve and maintain a youthful look. In terms of the jawline – filler has become more desirable and popular over the last several years. We must be aware of and focused on what the best look is for the jaw and chin.
Some individuals prefer a more subtle result and avoid over-emphasizing the jawline and the chin anatomy. Once we decide that improvement along these lines is desirable there are many options available to us.
Face Fillers
First and foremost is fat grafting which in some instances is preferable. Fillers such as Sculptra, Radiesse, HA, and Juvederm. These products provide specific benefits and drawbacks. These Juvederm products include Volux which is a newer product designed specifically for the jaw.
The HA products give the most immediate fill as well as the fat transfer. The other products stimulate collagen and take more time. These products gradually build volume over time, especially Sculptra.
However, keep in mind that if permanent chin and jawline augmentation is desired – implants are the best method to achieve this. True they are foreign objects but in the right hands they can produce the best long-lasting results.
