IS LABIAPLASTY FOR ME?

The entry to the vagina is the labia. The outer lips or labia majora are constant and do not vary much in shape or size. During sexual arousal, they fill with blood and engorge. The inner lips or labia minora are more visible and intimately a part of sexual activity. Childbirth takes its toll on these inner lips. Discoloration, elongation, and somewhat irregularity often occurs. When this happens, they can hurt during sex and exercise. And some women find their appearance less than acceptable.

LABIAPLASTY/MOMMY MAKEOVER

Therefore we include this option with the concept of a mommy makeover. A procedure that classically involves the breasts and the abdomen. The inner labia can also be given a trimming. DISCOMFORT AND RECOVERY

The procedure is usually done under general anesthesia. And, in our practice, we apply a long-acting local to minimize the postoperative discomfort. Cold compresses for several days postoperatively will help minimize the discomfort. Recovery with regard to exercise and sexual activity can be anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks. This will depend on the process of healing which is individualized for each and every woman.
