The term mommy makeover is not a medical or anatomic term. It is a type of jargon or colloquialism in the plastic surgery world. It describes the surgery for a woman who has borne several children and suffers the consequences anatomically. Childbearing is a gift. And, it must be embraced as the significant aspect of society that it represents -our survival. However, despite the inspirational and obvious benefits of having children the female body undergoes significant and, in most instances, irreversible changes.
This is especially true if there is breast-feeding. So, the breasts not only lose their size and shape but can significantly sag. In addition to sagging and extra skin volume loss can be a problem therefore breast lift with or without implants for the postpartum female can be of significant benefit and restore the youthful and perkiness of breasts.
If sagging is not a problem and only volume loss is that implants can be the solution. Usually following pregnancy there is an abundance of skin and if lift is not needed then good size implants may be a benefit. Although complications are rare, they can occur in the patient must be willing to accept any additional costs that may be associated with treating complications.
